When you upload a profile photo, Masoya only accesses the specific image you select using your device's file picker. Camera and microphone/audio permissions are only requested when you choose to record a short 10-second verification video for profile authentication.
3 Profile Verification & Camera Access
To keep Masoya safe, authentic, and free from impersonation or bots, we offer an optional Profile Verification feature.
When you initiate verification:
- Camera & Microphone Access: We request temporary hardware permissions to record a short, 10-second selfie video of your face directly inside the app.
- Human & Moderator Review: An authorized team reviewer inspects your submitted 10-second verification video side-by-side with your uploaded profile photos to confirm identity match.
- Verified Badge: Once approved, a verification badge is attached to your public profile to signal authenticity to other users.
- Privacy Safeguard: Verification videos are used exclusively for identity validation. They are never published publicly, shared on your public profile, or sold to third parties.
4 Location Information
Masoya may request access to your location to help show nearby users and improve matching features.
Location access is completely optional. You can allow or deny location permission at any time from your device settings.
If location permission is disabled, nearby matching features may not work properly.
We use approximate location information where possible to improve privacy and reduce unnecessary precision.
5 Notifications
Masoya may send notifications for:
- New messages
- New matches
- Account activity and verification updates
- Important updates
Notifications are optional and can be disabled from the app settings or your device settings at any time.
6 How We Use Your Information

Verification videos are kept strictly confidential for identity review by authorized staff and are never made publicly visible to other app members.

When your account is deleted, we delete your authentication record, profile information, uploaded profile photos, and submitted verification video media from our active systems, unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud prevention, or abuse prevention purposes.

Submitted verification videos are retained only for as long as necessary to complete identity review and maintain account security, after which they are safely purged or archived in restricted storage.

12 Children's Privacy
Masoya is intended only for users who are 18 years old or older.
